A review essay, by Laurence Roth, was recently published in Studies in American Jewish Literature (Vol.31, No.1, 2012), that deals substantially with Orthodox By Design, alongside other texts addressing the material culture of American Jewish life. Many university libraries subscribe to the journal, but you can also get hold of the text here.

A substantial review of Orthodox By Design, by Oz Frankel, has appeared in the journal, Topia: Canadian Journal of Cultural Studies (Vol. 25, 2011, pp.265-8). There is no e-version of the journal, so you need to ask your local library to subscribe (a worthwhile effort, it's an outstanding journal). You can read more information about the journal here.

A review of Orthodox By Design has just been published in the newspaper, The Jewish Forward. I only wish the reviewer had taken more care to distinguish claims I made from claims I only reported but did not necessarily endorse. Nevertheless, it's a decent review, and can be read in full here.
